Weka Olive Oil is cold pressed on the South Island of New Zealand from the trees planted in the Moutere Hills near the town of Motueka (“land of the Weka”). The Weka is a flightless bird indigenous to New Zealand and known for its mischievous personality.

Weka is operated by Peter and Laraine Rothenberg, retired American tax lawyers who found a very different way of life in the Antipodes.

LECCINO & FRANTOIO BLEND

The Weka Leccino/Frantoio extra virgin olive oil blend is made primarily from Leccino and Frantoio olives, varieties of Italian origin that produce oil that is fruity with a strong, rich flavor.  The blend offers robust and grassy flavors with a smooth finish.  This is a versatile oil that accents soups and stews, salads, meat and fish.   This oil is certified New Zealand extra virgin olive oil.  2016 winner of Olives New Zealand silver medal.  Available in 500 ml and 250 ml bottles.

KORONEIKI

The Weka Koroneiki extra virgin olive extra virgin olive oil is produced in limited quantities.   This robust oil is made from Koroneiki olives, a variety originated in Greece that produces a high yield of oil of exceptional quality and flavor.  The intense flavor and peppery notes make it ideal for breads, fish, vegetables and pasta.   This oil is certified New Zealand extra virgin olive oil.   2016 winner of Olives New Zealand silver medal.   Available in 500 ml bottles.

FRANTOIO BLEND

The Weka Frantoio extra virgin olive oil is made from Frantoio olives, a variety of Italian origin that produces a mellow but flavourful oil with a grassy flavour.  It is ideal on breads, salads, pastas, vegetables and fish.   This oil is certified New Zealand extra virgin olive oil.   2016 winner of Olives New Zealand gold medal.   Available in 500 ml and 250 ml bottles.
